OK. The good guys won. That is, Mike Benardo, Alex Padro, and, on the Far Side, Harry Potter dispatched their Voldemort. (We're talking the ANC's here.)
The Whitman at 910 M Street is nearing completion. Just a bit of repaving and turning on the street lights. The paving should be done this week. When Pepco returns phone calls to the Whitman, perhaps the street lights will light, and the streets will be safer. After a few months pause, construction starts on 917 M Street, as yet unnamed.
Three rear view mirrors smashed evenings of October 29 and 31. Different car types. Sidewalk side. As if someone took a baseball bat to them. (Obviously too accurate for a National.) Anyone else?
Does anyone know what's happening here?
Mike Benardo: ... observed that the construction workers at 1410 9th St. NW are urinating in the alley directly behind the project. I thought that the builder was supposed to provide for a place for workers to relieve themselves (i.e., bring in a port-o-let, etc.). I have filed a complaint with DCRA. I wanted to let you know in case you would like to file a similar complaint. Greg Melcher: ... they used to have a portable potty at the rear of the property. I noticed it since it seemed to have become the nieghborhood toilet since they didn't lock it when they weren't there. Perhaps they failed to pay and it has been taken away.
There are several folks opposing liquor licence renewal for District Liquors in the 1200 block of Eleventh Street. There is a hearing coming up in January. At the meeting, petitions for blocks will be distibuted for neighborhood signatures. District Liquors has been a pain in the whatever for many, many moons. If you have any useful pictures, video, or anything else useful, bring it to the meeting or get the proper points of contact. Everything is needed.
WRT Ms. Parker, who was mentioned in the email, some tidbits are found here.
Unless otherwise noted, all locations are "NW".
